Dinner :)

Had dinner at ZY's house.. was so nice of him to cook dinner for us! From what was supposed to be an "instant meal", he turned the dinner to a wonderful European cuisine :) Thanks for the hardwork, dude! Your culinary skills are great!

First, the table caught our eye

Then the menu! (This is really amazing)
And the salad dressing..

The busy chef
The salad
The main course :) (Yes, it's salmon and asparagus!!)

The sinful pleasure... Chocolate mousse
Sinful pleasure No. 2: Chocolate truffles
His mini oven! I want this too!
The Chef :)
And all of us :)

We were saying that ZY shouldn't get a wife who can cook well, or else there will never be peace in his kitchen..

Great dinner, but a very fattening one as well. Time to go back to the jogging routine!

:)

It was a good day spent with Kuku No. 2 today. We had free ice creams from Ben and Jerry's, and the queue wasn't so bad because it was a gradual moving queue albeit the long queue of people. I got a double scoop for my Chunky Monkey =p

Then Kuku No. 2 brought me to Bakerzin to try her favourite macaron. Macarons aren't too bad, though I wouldn't exactly say I like them cuz they're a bit too sweet for my liking. I can't remember all the three flavours I tried though, but the whisky-flavoured macaron was quite impressionable.

Kuku No. 2 with her new hairstyle! Nice nice :)
At Bakerzin with a nice backdrop
Then it was movie with the gals at The Cathay. We went into 'The Grand Cathay' which totally left us in awe the moment we stepped our foot in it. It was very different from the usual theatres, and the seats were pretty comfortable. Plus..! No extra charges for the comfort of the theatre :p
Jun and Lala Winini and Gogo

Harold and Kumar 2 was as good as its first installment, though more crude and slapstick in humour. The movie exposes a whole lot of stereotypes and discrimnation, like Koreans not knowing how to speak proper English, black Asians being associated with terrorism, the Jews being associated with poverty, the black Americans and grape drink.. etc. Managed to find out the link between grape drink and black Americans. Basically it's a ghetto version of grape juice which the blacks like.

Of course, the show won't be nice without John Cho.. haha!

:)

Mid week again, but I'm already feeling very tired. Not just physically tired, but tired of certain things in life, which i know I shouldnt be worrying about since I've already prayed, but somehow i just don't have the faith to believe nor pull through. This is just one of the moments where life seems really mundane and stagnant. It's easy to say "just don't think about it", but when your mind is idle, it is prone to think about almost anything in the world, what more the issues on hand.

On a happier note, I've finished 3/4 of my Sg Lit texts... left with Fistful of Colours which I'm really not interested in reading. Hope to finish it by Friday so I can concentrate on Vic Lit texts.

Got back the Sg Lit assignment today. I did better than I expected. Definitely satisfied considering how crap the work is. Tom Stoppard's presentation next wk, and then it's HW111 (our grp is really slack man...), and then it's exams. Can't wait for the exams to be over. I'm sick of this semester.

On an even happier note, Mom bought me a Cheesecake Recipe Book. Soooo many different kinds of cheesecake recipes! Definitely brought a smile to my face. Now I'm motivated to make cheesecake again, considering the not so successful first attempt.

Yesterday, went with CW to the Maroon 5 concert. It was not bad, and I couldn't help gushing about Adam Levine. Anyway, my craving for Bedok food was satisfied. The food was simply awesome.
Fried carrot cake.

The special Ba Chor Mee. The stall only sells Ba Chor Mee soup. The garlic taste is really strong, so if you're someone who doesn't like garlic, you'd probably not like it. I like it though.

Fried Hokkien Mee! Love the Hokkien Mee here!

Too bad our stomachs were not big enough for the stingray, grilled chicken wings, and otah. Those are really nice too.

Picture Talk

Stella and I prepared breakfast for the family on Good Friday. Was a successful one I guess, just that Stella overcooked the asparagus. My scrambled eggs turned out just the way I wanted it. :)

Time out with Esther Han! Our long over-due outing. Went to this place called "Changing Appetites". Deserts were great but main course was not very good. (too oily)
CHEESECAKE!!!! (Rum and Raisin Cheesecake). I must try Royals as recommended by fid fid firdaus the pirate.

Esther's humongous chocolate drink.

Gathering with the people from Qifa 5C/6D (1999,2000) The boys are still as playful and noisy. Was a great time reminiscing our playful past.
Easter Musical. Thank God for the opportunity to serve as a Campus Group. This was taken at NTU Alumni Club, which incidentally was the place CAC was having their dinner at the same time.

Easter Sunday!
Christ is risen, and we worship a living God.
Since death has lost its sting, why should we not rejoice?

Blogging of Boredom

I don't usually like to blog about the day's happenings, and even when I do, it's usually because I am either excited about the day, or I'm just plain bored. This post explains the latter.

Went to the Sitex fair today. Damn crowded. I hate crowds. Okay, it was not that bad. Fid and I finally got ourselves a hard drives each, and that Jieqiang.. grr.. HE GOT A VAIO! Joseph and Minyi were damn nice to have followed us even though they didn't get anything.

I had BK! wheee~!

Daughtry

Daughtry rocks. His voice is mesmerizing and so is he. I love his head (hairstyle?) and goatee! Ultimate man. haha. My kinda style =p

Photos photos photos! I love this charming picture of my dearest.

The kiwi that Dad cut for me. So beautiful right!

And look who got a new haircut! He looks like some PRC now, but he's still as adorable =)

I thought about it.. Yes, I am very upset that my classmates and I are separated for next semester, but I guess we should take comfort in the fact that we'll still see each other in lectures. We can always meet up for lunch at our usual spot! Afterall, we've all spent one wonderful and fruitful semester together. I've definitely met new friends who are true jewels and gems. :)

TTFN~! gonna be a geek tmr cuz I'm going to Sitex. Hah.

Beowulf

Went with my wonderful bunch of tutorial mates to catch Beowulf today. For a moment, I imagined myself watching Shrek instead of Beowulf! I guess it's precisely because I had high expectations for it, hence the utter disappointment throughout and at the end of the movie. I thought Neil Gaiman is better than that! Oh well, let's hope Coraline next year will be good. I heard Stardust is good. Let's hope that's the case.

Although the movie failed my expectations, it was good entertainment nonetheless. I guess I only liked the dragon =p

It was a great time with my friends, nonetheless. Crapped, talked, and laughed together as usual. Boy, you can never get sick of these people. I just love them all.

Looking forward to Will Smith's I Am Legend! That movie better be good!

Grow Old With You
Adam Sandler

I wanna make you smile whenever you're sad
Carry you around when your arthritis is bad
All I wanna do is grow old with you

I'll get your medicine when your tummy aches
Build you a fire if the furnace breaks
Oh it could be so nice, growing old with you

I'll miss you
Kiss you
Give you my coat when you are cold

Need you
Feed you
Even let ya hold the remote control

So let me do the dishes in our kitchen sink
Put you to bed if you've had too much to drink
I could be the man who grows old with you
I wanna grow old with you

Had a great time jamming and playing the guitar with Joseph today, with beautiful vocal accompliments from Yijun and Anisah. It's been very long since I played the guitar with and in front of my friends. I think we'll have one more session next Friday =) (Yes, Fridays. I love Fridays). Unfortunately, next week is the last week of school. It will be books books books. I have a lot of books to read within these couple of weeks. Shit.

I'm so glad this week is over. HL102 really nearly killed me, but thank God that family and friends cared. I'm beginning to understand why my vocation is in NTU and not FASS.. It's not a bad thing afterall. I used to think NTU Eng Lit was where they dump useless people.. but I was wrong.. it's a place for people with talents, passion, brains, intelligence etc. If I'm already suffering in my studies here in NTU, I wonder how it'll be at FASS. Anyway, thank God for friends in school that are really angels sent by God to encourage me.

I mentioned that I wanna blog about my trip to the Toy Museum. Well, as there are many photos, I'm unable to upload them here. So if you wanna have a look on what are the toys they have, just check out the 3 albums in my Facebook.

Some of the toys I saw brought back memories. Speaking of memories..I was packing my cupboard when I saw my JJ uniform.. decided to try it on and see how I'd look (thank God I still can fit in without any problems). Kinda made me nostalgic.. Although the school sucked..there were other points that made going to school fun afterall.. Friends, eye-candy, Jimbo (HAHA), softball blabla.

Did I mention that Im so glad this suicidal week is over?

IT'S OVER!

I suddenly feel a sense of satisfaction.

It feels as though half the load of a burden has been lifted off my shoulders. Brian Hoca finally accepted my word! I came up with 3 words, and he suggested 'tobacco', and even commented it was a good word. YAY! And i'm gonna use the New Historicism/Traditional Historicism methodology. Oh man..so cool.. finally something to do with History =D

I sure am glad. The week is going really quickly, and recess week is coming!! Somehow I feel more motivated to work hard now.

Gave a surprise to Ishita today! Boy was she shocked! Glad to have seen her after sooooo long. Seems like she visits NTU more often than her own school, NUS. Haha. She should have come here cuz all her friends are here. Was so fun reminiscing about the craziest things we did in Chinese class back in secondary school.

(random comment..)
I love my tutorial class. I love the people.

Seems like I'm not gonna get my driving license in March afterall.. =(

But what's done is done and cannot be undone. Time to move on dude.

It's Friday again, and I just love Fridays. I'm just hoping for a rainy night to blend with my feelings tonight, and the bonus is a wonderful sleep later on.

We celebrated Joseph's (soozhouwei!johnwayne!beowulf!) birthday today. I'm sure he was pleasantly surprised cuz we only know each other for a month! He was smart enough to reject the mini-cake smash, but too bad for him, his whole shirt was filled with a mixture of ladies' perfume haha. It was so sweet of Constance to bring an extra shirt for him.

I guess as much as I dread going to school, I'm thankful for a bunch of fun-loving people that are just like soma (BNW's temporary anti-depressant)

I'm just feeling damn sian now cuz of what I went through in the afternoon. And of all times, a stupid surveyor had to approach me at one of my worst moments. I'm usually very happy to do surveys for people, but for this guy, I just had to snap at him. (Sorry, Mr. Surveyor)

Oh well. I'm feeling slightly better now, that is if I don't brood over the failure. I wanna watch a movie.. Maybe Evan Almighty?

Just came back from my secondary 2 class gathering. It's amazing how some of the ex-classmates still bother to keep in touch even after 3 to 5 years. Some people change - for the better, while some hasn't changed (which isn't really a good sign) In any case, I shan't dwell on it.
It's nice listening to the guys share 'bout their army stories. I've always enjoyed listening to army stories, and sometimes, I would imagine myself being in the army.

Am also glad that I'll be seeing some of my ex-classmates in NTU.. but that will be 2 years later. They did well for their A Levels and I'm really happy for them!

People marvel at the course I'll be undertaking in NTU... but I can't say the same for myself. Truth is, it IS an easy course to get into and I personally feel that that particular course is a dumping ground. Whatever it is, I will try my best in that course, and God-willing, take on a double-degree in my second year. (but being the imaginative me, these may just be wild fantasies and dreams that may never come to life. we'll see.)
Photos may be uploaded at a later date if yours truly isn't too lazy :)

Looking forward to CAC FOC!
